How to look good on the course -
The "Do's" and "Don'ts" of golf


We are a Golfing Society and in many repects we rely on the goodwill of Golf Clubs to allow us to play.

Etiquette and Dress Code are sometimes forgotten in our haste to play the perfect shot.

Here is a gentle reminder :




Mens polo shirts with collar and sleeves

Ladies shirts/tops with collar but can be sleeveless

Men: Long trousers or tailored shorts of appropriate length
Ladies: skirts / shorts / culottes

Men: Long socks or short white socks
Ladies: shoe socks

Golf shoes - soft spikes preferred
Golf bag



Not Acceptable

Hats and caps must be worn correctly

Tee shirts / Collarless shirts / Football shirts
Shirts not tucked in

Sports shorts / Beach shorts / Bermuda shorts
Denim jeans or shorts

Trousers tucked in socks or rolled up
Non white short socks

Plimsols / Trainers / Work Boots / Deck Shoes
No golf bag




1 - Mobile phones must not be used on the course

2 - Respect and care for the  courses, by remembering the three "R's" :

a - Repair Pitch Marks

b - Replace Divots

c - Rake Bunkers
